Gdansk has a vodka story unlike any other Polish city. In 1598, Mennonite distiller Ambrosius Vermöllen settled here and began the tradition behind Goldwasser, the herbal liqueur famous for the flakes of gold floating inside the bottle. We include Goldwasser in the experience, alongside other Polish vodkas and food pairings, in venues close together in the historic centre. Your expert can also tell the local legend of Neptune turning coins from his fountain into golden flakes — a suitably theatrical story for a drink born in this great trading port.

We had a delightful vodka tasting with Maria. She is great at explaining the different vodkas, their tastes/aromas, and the history behind vodka. You haven't truly been to Gdańsk unless you've tasted vodka with Maria.

Martyna was amazing! I booked the vodka tour pretty last minute and she managed to make it very fun and engaging. She shared lots of interesting stories, kept the energy up the whole time, me and my friend really enjoyed it. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Gdansk.

Our guide Ada was brilliant. Very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, funny and had excellent English. We were the only two people on the tour at the time so that was a bonus. The restaurant where is was held was lovely. Added bonus of water and a few nibbles to compliment the vodka. Very informative and interesting and would highly recommend if you are a fan of vodka. Thank you Ada, we had a brilliant time.

Ada was wonderful! We learned so much about vodka as well as the history of Poland. The snacks were great as well. Additionally she went above and beyond for us as we were running so late and she waited for us and gave us the full tasting. Definitely works recommend this tour!

The Vodka Tasting is a shorter, seated experience at one centrally located venue with six Polish vodka shots and food bites. The Vodka Tour visits three genuine local venues and includes eight traditional Polish vodkas with food pairings. Both are hosted by a friendly local vodka expert.
The Vodka Tasting lasts about 1.5 hours and the Vodka Tour about 2.5 hours. Start times can be organised between 12:00 and 19:00, subject to availability. Choose a city, date and group size, and we'll confirm the details before sending a payment link.
Their shots can either be divided among the rest of the group, or we can order them a non-alcoholic alternative drink. The experience isn't just drinking — you'll learn about the history of vodka, Polish brands and drinking culture, hear stories from the communist times, and enjoy the food.
